Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has targeted US military facilities in Bahrain, claimed it has destroyed radar systems in Oman, and hit Jordan and Kuwait in its latest round of overnight retaliatory strikes against the United States. The attacks came as a response to Washington's escalating strikes, with prospects of peace receding.
The IRGC said it attacked Oman, targeting "the FPS long-range aerial radar and the vessel detection radar in Oman," adding that these systems were destroyed. In Bahrain, the IRGC launched missile and drone attacks targeting "installations and infrastructure of the aggressive US army" in Juffair. Bahrain's Ministry of Interior confirmed sirens sounded and urged calm.
Jordan's military intercepted and downed four missiles entering its airspace from Iranian territory. The IRGC earlier claimed it targeted Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base, setting fire to fuel depots and ammunition storage facilities. In Kuwait, the IRGC said it targeted a US surface-to-surface missile base, destroying two HIMARS launchers and missile-packed warehouses.
The US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) said it hit "dozens of targets at multiple locations" in Iran, including air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats. Iran's Khuzestan province reported at least eight locations attacked, with one killed and four injured.
Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the US strikes. President Donald Trump insisted the Strait of Hormuz was open but said a deal with Iran had collapsed. The IRGC struck three commercial vessels off Oman on July 6, and the US retaliated the next day. Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to its lowest level in five weeks.
