Utah Jazz guard Trey Alexander was taken off the court on a stretcher after appearing to injure his side on a drive to the basket during an NBA Summer League game against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.

Alexander, who signed a two-way deal with Utah last week, made contact with Bulls forward Caleb Wilson while driving to the hoop. After tossing the ball, he went behind the basket clutching his side or abdomen and collapsed to the ground in visible pain.

The 23-year-old was stretchered off the Thomas & Mack Center court with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The Jazz have not yet commented on the severity of the injury.

Alexander played three seasons at Creighton University before turning pro. He was named G League Rookie of the Year for the 2024-2025 season and has appeared in 24 games for the Denver Nuggets and nine for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Under his current contract, Alexander is expected to split time between the Jazz and their G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.
