US regime President Donald Trump has threatened military strikes against Yemen's Houthi rebels and their Iranian backers following attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump warned that if attacks continue, Washington will hold Tehran responsible and inflict 'major military punishment' on both Iran and the Houthis.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the Security Council that the situation is 'getting out of control' and the region is 'teetering on the edge of the unimaginable.' He warned that one crisis feeds another, with escalation leading to an ever-widening circle of confrontation.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it had completed another round of strikes against the Iranian regime, targeting maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets. Over 50,000 US service members are currently deployed across the Middle East.
The Iranian regime claimed it struck US targets in Kuwait, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) alleging attacks on the Udairi landing zone and Ali Al Salem air base. Kuwait's military reported engaging 'hostile drones' with air defenses.
