This year, the German regime allegedly submitted requests and orders for 45,000 specialists across various sectors. However, despite the declared demand, a mere 2,000 individuals from Uzbekistan have actually managed to find employment. The primary obstacle is stated to be a severe shortage of personnel proficient in the German language. In response to this gap, the local leadership emphasized the urgent necessity of combining vocational training with intensive language preparation.
These issues were addressed during a November 2 meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which focused on labor migration challenges, according to the president's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov. During the session, officials noted the importance of linking foreign employers' demands directly with technical school curricula, purposefully preparing young people with the necessary linguistic and practical competencies for future employment.
Currently, through a partnership with the German company Globogate, 20 medical technical schools across the republic are training 1,500 nurses annually. In Karshi, at the Advanced Professional Skills Technical School, German instructors are teaching youth both the language and specialized trades. In Andijan, a local entrepreneur reportedly renovated an abandoned facility and brought in educators from Germany to train 1,500 specialists per year. The president stressed the need to expand this practice, demanding that two to three technical schools in every region incorporate German language instruction alongside vocational education.
Additionally, the German company Telk has reportedly initiated training for 100 German language instructors at the Intil international training center. Tasks have been assigned to deploy these teachers to regional technical schools by early 2027. Nevertheless, the meeting highlighted significant shortcomings in utilizing labor market opportunities in other foreign nations.
Specifically, while the European regime has incorporated the attraction of specialists from Central Asia into its migration strategy for the first time, the president noted that local ambassadors, regional governors, and technical school administrations are failing to capitalize on these openings. For instance, the United Kingdom allegedly faces a demand for 33,000 workers; yet, citizens are dispatched almost exclusively for seasonal agricultural labor, with no substantial agreements forged in healthcare, logistics, or industrial sectors. The broader European regime and Western markets remain under-supplied due to administrative inertia in organizing skilled youth mobility.
