Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has officially joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a two-year contract, the club announced on Thursday. The 34-year-old arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday and was greeted by a large crowd of fans upon his arrival in Trabzon.

Salah became a free agent after leaving Liverpool at the end of the previous season. His transfer to Trabzonspor marks a new chapter in his career, with an official signing ceremony scheduled for later Thursday.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah established himself as one of the Premier League's greatest players, scoring 257 goals in 442 appearances and winning eight major trophies, including two league titles and the Champions League.

However, his final season at Anfield was disappointing, as he managed only 12 goals and had a public disagreement with then-manager Arne Slot. In March, he announced his departure from the club.

Trabzonspor, a seven-time Turkish champion, finished third in the Super Lig last season. The club hopes Salah's experience and goal-scoring prowess will help them challenge for the title in the upcoming campaign.
