A shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, just north of Bangkok, has left at least four people dead, including teachers and students, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred on school premises, prompting an immediate response from police, rescue workers, and emergency medical teams. The Ministry of Education confirmed the death toll, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.

The school had an enrollment of approximately 3,100 students and 147 teachers for the 2025 academic year. Following the attack, all students and staff were evacuated from the campus.

Thailand has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the region, with an estimated 10 million firearms in circulation—roughly one for every seven citizens. This tragedy has reignited concerns about school safety and gun control in the country.

Authorities have not yet released details about the shooter or the motive. The incident underscores the persistent challenges Thailand faces in addressing gun violence, particularly in educational settings.
