Several people were wounded on Sunday in a shooting in Holbaek, Denmark, with police stating they believe the incident is linked to a "settling of scores" within criminal networks.

In a statement, police said: "At this time, we cannot provide further information about their condition. The police presumption is that this is a settling of scores within the criminal milieu."

Officers were called to multiple locations in Holbaek, some 70 kilometers (45 miles) west of the capital, Copenhagen. The incident was reported to police around 3:45 p.m. local time (1345 UTC).

It was initially unclear how many people had been injured or how severe the injuries were. According to preliminary information, the perpetrators were seen leaving the scene in a white car.
