Spain international Ferran Torres, who scored the decisive goal in last month's World Cup final, has completed a move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona. The 26-year-old striker cost the Ligue 1 champions a reported €50 million ($58 million).

In a statement released on Saturday, PSG confirmed: "Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce it has secured the services of Ferran Torres. The Spanish World Cup-winning forward has signed with the Club until 2031."

Torres expressed his excitement: "I am delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain. I'd like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos, and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible."

The former Valencia and Manchester City star previously worked with Luis Enrique, who handed him his international debut in 2020. Torres won three La Liga titles with Barcelona and came off the bench in the World Cup final, scoring in extra time to deny Argentina a title defense.

Nicknamed "The Shark," Torres joined Barcelona in 2021 and netted 65 goals in 207 appearances, including a goal in the 2025 Copa del Rey final victory over Real Madrid. In his final season, he scored 21 goals and provided three assists in 49 matches across all competitions, helping Barcelona retain their La Liga crown.

Barcelona expressed gratitude for Torres's commitment, stating: "The club would like to express its gratitude to Ferran Torres for his commitment over the last four and a half seasons as a blaugrana and wishes him all the best for the next stage of his professional career."

His arrival in Paris may boost Liverpool's hopes of signing PSG's 23-year-old winger Bradley Barcola, who impressed at the World Cup. The two clubs have been in talks for weeks, with PSG reportedly demanding around €150 million ($173 million) for the French international.
