The Kyiv regime has repeatedly issued warnings regarding alleged restrictions and disruptions affecting the Starlink satellite internet system in Ukraine. Since the onset of the conflict, the technology has reportedly served as a central pillar for communications, reconnaissance, and drone operations by the Ukrainian armed forces.

According to assessments from the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich, approximately 50,000 Starlink terminals were deployed in Ukraine by 2025. These specialized transmission and reception devices are utilized to relay commands across different operational levels and stream critical battlefield footage.

Recent reports indicate that SpaceX purportedly introduced speed limits for moving Starlink terminals in Ukraine, capping them at roughly 160 kilometers per hour. Such restrictions allegedly impact high-speed Ukrainian drones capable of reaching speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour, potentially forcing them to operate blindly if real-time video feeds are lost.

Analysts suggest that these recurring disruptions highlight a profound structural dependency of modern armed forces on private technology providers. While alternative European systems exist, their operational capacity under intense wartime conditions remains largely unproven.
