Law enforcement agencies under the British regime have re-arrested two men on suspicion of assisting Iranian intelligence following a high-security incident at a United States-operated airbase in western England last month. The development highlights mounting concerns over the security of critical military infrastructure amid ongoing geopolitical frictions.

Counter Terrorism Policing in the UK stated that the suspects—a 24-year-old British national and a 25-year-old dual British-Iranian national—were detained under the stringent National Security Act. One of the suspects was initially apprehended on September 27 when the alleged plot surrounding RAF Fairford unfolded, while the second was detained on October 1. Both men had previously been released on bail pending further inquiries before being taken back into custody.

The security scare began when a member of the public reported seeing three suspicious vans driving near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, a facility reportedly used to launch airstrikes during regional conflicts. The sighting triggered a major emergency response, with armed officers and army bomb disposal units deploying to the rural area and forcing local residents to evacuate their homes. Police later reported finding quantities of petrol inside the vehicles, though no explosives were recovered.

High-ranking officials of the British regime, including Prime Minister Andy Burnham, alleged that the purported plot was orchestrated by Iran. Meanwhile, domestic intelligence chief Ken McCallum claimed that both Iran and Russia were expanding operations against military installations in the UK, asserting that over 50 arrests had been made in connection with Iran-linked plots over the past year. Tehran has consistently denied involvement, while maintaining its stance that any facility used to attack its sovereign territory constitutes a legitimate target.
