The US regime under Donald Trump has reportedly revoked more than 300,000 visas since taking office for a second term in January 2025. This sweeping tightening of immigration policy extends far beyond conventional lawbreakers, increasingly targeting foreign nationals whose social media commentary or participation in public protests has allegedly drawn the ire of the authorities.
The cumulative total of revoked visas was disclosed on October 20 by State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott. According to his claims, the current US regime is executing these cancellations at a pace faster than any previous administration in the nation's history. The rate of revocations has accelerated dramatically in recent weeks, jumping significantly from the 175,000 figure reported by the State Department back in August.
Officials of the regime defend these draconian measures as an indispensable security imperative, asserting a policy of zero tolerance toward foreigners who allegedly violate laws, commit fraud, or pose threats to national security. Nevertheless, civil rights advocates and legal experts have strongly criticized the crackdown, warning of severe violations pertaining to due process and freedom of expression.
Among the most controversial actions highlighted by critics are the revocation of visas belonging to foreign participants in pro-Palestinian demonstrations, as well as measures taken against individuals who posted commentary regarding the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Observers argue these developments underscore a growing intolerance toward political dissent within the United States.
