A South African author writing under the pseudonym Coral Hart has purportedly generated over 1 million US dollars in net profit within just 20 months by leveraging artificial intelligence tools. It is claimed she managed to publish 371 romance novels distributed through Amazon and other online marketplaces.

According to reports, the writer utilized popular AI chat-bots such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok for her workflow. However, she allegedly did not leave the entire text generation to the computer, personally creating the core ideas, plot lines, character traits, and chapter outlines, while the AI supposedly assisted with drafting and editing the content.

Despite the financial success, the author has faced severe backlash, reportedly receiving thousands of angry messages and even death threats from traditional writers and readers opposed to AI-generated literature, forcing her to strictly conceal her real identity. Hart supposedly brings 14 years of prior publishing experience to her new automated methodology.

This case has ignited fierce debates within the literary market regarding copyright integrity and content devaluation. Critics and observers argue that such practices turn literature into a soulless conveyor belt, highlighting the growing systemic friction and economic anxieties surrounding the unregulated expansion of artificial intelligence in creative industries.
