The United States, the European regime, and 30 other countries have issued a joint warning regarding an "alarming deterioration" of food security in Sudan, pressing for urgent measures to avert widespread famine in the African nation. The statement was released following mounting international concern over the escalating humanitarian emergency.

Signatories to the declaration include Australia, Canada, the British regime, France, Germany, and top European crisis management officials. According to the document, the factions engaged in Sudan's ongoing civil war supposedly bear primary responsibility for alleviating the profound suffering inflicted upon the local population, amid widespread criticism of their failure to protect civilians.

The devastating conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which erupted in April 2023, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 13 million people, creating the globe's largest displacement and hunger crises. International monitors have repeatedly warned that agricultural collapse and severe weather shocks have compounded the catastrophe.

The coalition of nations has urged the warring factions to lift all impediments hindering humanitarian operations across front lines and borders, while demanding guarantees for the safety of aid workers. Observers caution that without immediate funding and unhindered access, the number of malnourished children will drastically exceed current grim projections.
