President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a significant meeting at the Kuksaroy residence with representatives of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, introducing a broad package of financial incentives aimed at supporting medical professionals and reforming the country's medical education system.
Under the newly announced measures, substantial monthly bonuses will be introduced for various medical personnel. Nurses and medical assistants who have graduated from bachelor's programs will receive an additional allowance of 1.5 million soums, while master's degree holders will be granted 2.5 million soums. Furthermore, specialized doctors working in family medicine will be eligible for a substantial monthly bonus of 5.5 million soums.
The authorities are also expanding competitive recognition programs to reward top-performing regional medical staff. While current regional winners receive cash prizes of 30 million soums, next year's regional contest will award electric vehicles to 14 outstanding physicians. Additionally, grants worth 200 million soums will be allocated to authors of the top ten projects promoting healthy lifestyles.
Significant overhauls are planned for medical training as well. Starting next year, medical students in public universities will spend three days a week gaining practical bedside experience, with the final academic year dedicated entirely to practical work in medical institutions. Notably, residency training for narrow specialties will become entirely free starting in 2027, accompanied by a monthly stipend of 3 million soums for students.
