Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. A snow avalanche has been recorded on the Kamchik Pass, which connects the Fergana Valley with the rest of the republic.
According to information from Uzhydromet, the incident occurred on February 25, 2026, between 11:00 and 15:40 in an area belonging to the Pap District of Namangan Region.
The total volume of the snow mass that came down was 3,000 cubic meters. Specialists note that the main cause of this natural phenomenon was a sharp rise in air temperature, leading to a loss of stability in the snow cover on mountain slopes.
Based on operational data from meteorologists and emergency services, no one was injured as a result of the avalanche. Necessary measures are being taken on-site to monitor the situation and ensure road safety. Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling through mountainous areas under changing weather conditions.
Earlier, there was a warning that precipitation and sharp temperature fluctuations are expected in the country's mountainous regions in the coming days, significantly increasing the risk of avalanches.
