A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Baliqchi district of Andijan region, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old child.

The incident took place on February 24 around 16:00 at a regulated intersection in the "Eski Markaz" neighborhood. A second-grade student suddenly ran onto a pedestrian crossing while a Zil-130 truck was moving on the road. The 22-year-old truck driver failed to brake in time and hit the child, then lost control and collided with a stationary Cobalt car at the intersection.

The injured boy was urgently hospitalized but died from his injuries despite doctors' efforts. The accident was captured on surveillance cameras and spread on social media, sparking widespread public outcry.

The investigative department of the Baliqchi district police initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code ("Violation of traffic safety rules resulting in death"). Investigative actions are currently underway to determine all circumstances of the tragedy.
