In Andijan Region, a 9-year-old child died after being hit by a ZIL truck at a pedestrian crossing. The regional police department reported the incident.

The accident occurred on February 24 at 15:56 on the 103rd kilometer of the Fergana Ring Road, passing through the "Eski Markaz" neighborhood in Baliqchi District.

A driver born in 2002, operating a ZIL-130 cargo vehicle, struck a pedestrian born in 2017, H.M., who was running across the road at a regulated intersection. The driver also lost control and collided with a parked Cobalt car.

The minor pedestrian died in the hospital despite receiving medical treatment.

Regarding the incident, investigators from the Investigation Department under the Baliqchi District Police have initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (violation of traffic or vehicle safety rules resulting in death), and investigative actions are currently underway.
