Following their removal from Apple's App Store, the apps VK, MAX, and Odnoklassniki have now also disappeared from Google Play, according to Podrobno.uz.

VK's press service confirmed that the VK app is no longer available for download via Google Play. However, users who have already installed it can continue using the service without restrictions.

Some media outlets also report that the VK app has been removed from the Huawei AppGallery store, and the social network has started transitioning to a new domain, vk.ru.

Earlier, the European Union added the VK holding company and its subsidiary Kommunikatsionnaya Platforma, the developer of the state messenger Max, to its sanctions list. The EU Council claimed that both organizations allegedly provide technical support for the suppression of civil society and democratic opposition in Russia. It also alleged that the Max messenger is used to transmit data to law enforcement agencies and to combat VPN services.

Recall that Apple previously removed VK apps from the App Store, including VK, Odnoklassniki, VK Music, VK Messenger, and other services. At that time, VK stated that the apps were removed without prior notice and recommended that users not delete already installed versions.
