South Korea's global K-pop phenomenon BTS is making a full-group comeback after a four-year hiatus and the completion of mandatory military service by all seven members. The new album "ARIRANG" is set for release on March 20, 2026, followed by a free comeback concert in Seoul on March 21, expected to draw 260,000 fans. Netflix has secured streaming rights for the concert, bringing the event to a worldwide audience.

Since their debut in 2013, BTS has been instrumental in shaping the international K-pop wave, breaking streaming records and cultivating ARMY, one of music's most dedicated fan bases. In 2022, the group announced a pause in full-group activities to pursue solo projects and fulfill military obligations. Each member released at least one solo album or performed individually, with Jin collaborating with Coldplay.

Following the discharge of all members from military service in June 2025, rumors of a reunion began to circulate. Official confirmation now includes not only the album and Seoul concert but also a major world tour with over 80 shows, starting on April 9, 2026. Netflix will further capitalize on the comeback with a documentary titled "BTS: The Return" on March 27, featuring exclusive footage from the members' service and preparation period.

The "ARIRANG" album comprises 14 tracks that explore a fusion of traditional Korean folk elements with modern pop aesthetics. The title references a Korean folk song symbolizing reunification, longing, and hope—a deliberate choice after years of separation. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the group stated the album reflects input from all members and aims to recapture their early energy while showcasing their matured artistic identities.

ARMY, the group's loyal fanbase, has eagerly awaited this reunion since BTS's last group project, the anthology "Proof," in 2022. The comeback promises not only new music but also the revival of the unique community bond between BTS and their supporters. Prior to the official announcement, ARMY Gold Members received handwritten letters from all seven members, expressing excitement and gratitude for the long-awaited return.
