At the beginning of the second week of May, Uzbekistan will be under the influence of the southern periphery of an anticyclone passing through Kazakhstan. The center of the anticyclone has an atmospheric pressure of up to 1030 hPa, bringing moderate daytime temperatures and cool nights and mornings.

By midweek, the anticyclone will completely leave the region, replaced by hot, low-pressure weather from Turkmenistan. By the weekend, temperatures in desert areas will reach +40°C. The week will be mostly dry, with temperatures gradually rising.

According to Uzgidromet, brief rains are possible on Monday and Tuesday in valley regions and mountains. No precipitation is expected on other days. Early week daytime temperatures: +25…+30°C; from Wednesday-Thursday: +30…+35°C; from Thursday in Bukhara and Navoi: +38°C; from Friday in the south: +38°C; on Sunday up to +40°C.

Nighttime temperatures early week: +10°C, in mountains down to +5°C. By the end of the week, nighttime temperatures in many regions will rise to +20°C.

On May 13-14, strong winds and possible dust storms are expected in desert areas. Air quality may deteriorate. The Sanitary-Epidemiological Committee has prepared recommendations for the population.

Early week, the anticyclone provides comfortable weather, with cool evenings and mornings. By the weekend, stuffy heat returns. No precipitation in the mountains; working days are recommended for trips.

Solar activity: In recent days, powerful flares close to X-class have been observed on the Sun, but the plasma is not directed straight at Earth. However, geomagnetic disturbances are possible. The Russian Solar Astronomy Laboratory forecasts a “green” level magnetic storm for early week.

People sensitive to magnetic storms are advised to plan based on two-day forecasts. Overall, from May 11 to 17, the climatic and space environment is relatively safe for health.
