The National Social Protection Agency of Uzbekistan has announced that starting June 1, 2026, compensation payments for electricity and natural gas consumption will be increased for needy families, in line with the introduction of new tariffs.
The agency reminded that eligible families receive monthly state compensation for electricity and natural gas consumption exceeding the basic norm: up to 150 kWh above the 200 kWh baseline for electricity; up to 250 cubic meters above the norm in winter months for gas, and up to 150 cubic meters in other months.
With the new tariffs taking effect on June 1, 2026, compensation amounts will also rise.
The updated compensation rates are: for electricity (up to 150 kWh above baseline) — increased from 30,000 to 37,500 soums; for natural gas during the heating season (up to 250 cubic meters above baseline) — from 200,000 to 225,000 soums; for natural gas in other seasons (up to 150 cubic meters above baseline) — from 120,000 to 135,000 soums.
To receive compensation, families should contact a social worker in their mahalla, the district social service center 'Inson', or the Agency's call center at 1140.
