A video of night racing in central Tashkent has gone viral on social media, showing two cars speeding before one of them hits a pedestrian, resulting in a serious traffic accident.

According to the Traffic Safety Department of the Tashkent City Police, the incident occurred on May 16 at around 1:00 AM on Bunyodkor Avenue in the Chilanzar district, opposite the Oliy Majlis building.

An 18-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Tracker struck a pedestrian of the same age who was crossing the road outside a crosswalk.

The victim received first aid at the scene. Details about his condition have not been disclosed.

Law enforcement is currently conducting a pre-investigation check.

Earlier, another accident involving a passenger bus and a Chevrolet Tracker occurred in Tashkent, injuring three people. Preliminary reports also blamed the Tracker driver.
