Uzbekistan has initiated a new phase of support for figures in literature, culture, and the arts. This was announced at a meeting between the president and sector workers. New social, material, and creative opportunities will be created for creative individuals.

The head of state proposed annually commissioning at least 50 best works by poets and writers, translating 10 best works of Uzbek literature into foreign languages, and presenting them abroad.

It was also established that paper costs for books published on the recommendation of the Writers' Union will be covered by the state. Projects by young talents combining poetry and art will also be supported: the best 100 initiatives will be financed by the state.

Social protection measures for creative workers were announced at the meeting. From now on, 1,000 poets, writers, and cultural figures will annually receive compensation for 50% of the down payment on mortgage loans for housing. Part of the rental costs for workers coming from other regions will be compensated by the state.

Additionally, 1,000 active sector figures will receive free medical treatment annually at state expense, and 2,000 creative workers will be provided with health insurance packages. Workers with at least 10 years of service will be given free vouchers to sanatoriums.

In his speech, the president emphasized the undeniable role of literature and art in strengthening national spirit and spiritual values, noting that creating works that inspire the people and enhance young people's feelings of love for the Motherland and devotion to the nation remains an important task.
