Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The best green startups were selected at the Eco Expo Central Asia 2026 exhibition in Samarkand. The award ceremony took place at the Expo Center of the Silk Road Samarkand complex.

A total of 37 projects addressing pressing environmental issues were presented. The first place was awarded to the Sawab project, developed by Saidamir Agzamov and Boburbek Askarov from Namangan. The authors proposed an innovative approach to reducing food waste and promoting more rational use of food products.

The second place went to the Ecopots project, developed by Shahida Karlibaeva and Miyratdin Azhiniyazov from Karakalpakstan. Their development focuses on recycling sheep wool waste into biodegradable plant pots, helping to reduce plastic pollution.

The third place was taken by the Smart Forest project, created by Akbarali Turdiev and his team from Tashkent. The startup offers AI-based environmental monitoring solutions, including early detection of forest fires and development of smart agriculture technologies.

Special nominations were also awarded to promising developments. The Eco Mikrogreens project by Mukhriddin Yakubov and Muinjon Naimov from Bukhara region was recognized as having the greatest environmental impact. The Eco Brick development by Oyatullokh Abdudjabborov from Tashkent was named the most innovative environmental solution.

Earlier, Uzbekistan won three out of five prizes at the ECO Startup Competition Central Asia in Astana.
