The flow of tourists from Russia to Uzbekistan continues to grow steadily. According to the Tourism Committee, nearly 466,000 Russian citizens visited the republic in the first five months of 2026 — a 30% increase compared to the same period last year, when the figure stood at 334,300.
The growth in Russian tourist numbers exceeded 30%, cementing Russia's status as one of Uzbekistan's key tourism markets. The increase was particularly noticeable during the May holidays. This year, over 124,000 Russian tourists arrived during the holiday period, compared to 94,200 in 2025 — a rise of more than 30,000 guests.
Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the top foreign destination for Russian travelers during the May 2026 holidays, surpassing Turkey and Belarus to become the season's biggest hit. Officials attribute the surge to improved tourism infrastructure and simplified visa procedures, signaling growing appeal of Uzbekistan as a travel destination.
