Today, July 2, Uzbekistan is celebrating the Day of Adoption of the State Emblem.
The State Emblem of Uzbekistan was approved by the law “On the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan” on July 2, 1992.
It is one of the main symbols of the country's state sovereignty. In the center of the emblem is the bird Humo with open wings, symbolizing happiness and love of freedom. It also features a rising sun, mountains, rivers, a blooming valley, wheat ears, and open cotton bolls.
At the bottom of the emblem, there is a ribbon in the colors of the state flag with the inscription “O‘zbekiston”.
Earlier, Senator Qudratilla Rafiqov raised the issue of rethinking state symbols. In his article, he called the emblem a symbol of “political anxiety” and “internal uncertainty” of the 1990s.
