In the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region, security service officers detained a foreign citizen who retrieved nearly a kilogram of synthetic narcotics from a hidden cache in a field.
The illicit synthetic drug trafficking channel was shut down by officers of the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs authorities as part of operational and preventive measures.
The operation took place in the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region. According to law enforcement, a 32-year-old citizen of a Middle Eastern country was detained after retrieving 970 grams of the narcotic substance mephedrone from a hidden cache in a field.
Subsequently, security forces inspected the detainee's temporary residence in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent, where electronic scales, thermal insulation tape, and other items used for packaging drugs were seized. An investigation is underway.
Earlier, a major channel for supplying synthetic drugs and potent substances was eliminated in Tashkent — over 2 kilograms of mephedrone (equivalent to 60,000 single doses) and 760 units of the drug Zardex were seized.
