A man suspected of stealing 880 million sums from an office in Tashkent's Yunusabad district has been detained. The stolen cash was found in a truck near his home.

The theft was reported from an office located in the "Markaz-5" mahalla. Following the report, criminal investigation officers identified the alleged perpetrator and arrested him.

According to the suspect, after the theft he hid the cash in a Foton truck parked near his house. The man expressed regret for his actions.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 169 ("Theft"). The suspect has been placed in custody.

Earlier, three suspects were detained in Navoi region for cyber theft. According to the Interior Ministry, they stole money from bank cards through malicious apps, causing total damages of 336 million sums.
