Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. In the first half of this year, law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan seized 2.7 tons of narcotic drugs and over 2.65 million potent pharmaceutical drugs from illegal circulation.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov. According to him, 8,653 criminal cases related to drug trafficking were opened during the reporting period.
Among the seized narcotics, more than 52 kilograms were synthetic substances. Additionally, criminal groups and individuals were stripped of 2,651,000 units of potent drugs.
Earlier, in Tashkent, law enforcement dismantled a major drug distribution channel. During the special operation, over 20 kilograms of banned substances were seized, and alleged participants of a virtual drug channel were detained.
