Law enforcement officers in the Fergana region detained a resident of the Rishtan district during a special operation on suspicion of drug trafficking.

According to the press service of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs, the 41-year-old woman was arrested while selling two packages of hashish weighing about 40 grams. A subsequent search of her bag in the presence of witnesses revealed two more packages containing approximately 60 grams of the same substance.

The drugs were seized as material evidence. An investigation is currently underway.

This is not the first such incident in the region. Previously, law enforcement in Fergana discovered nearly 6 kilograms of drugs in a pile of crushed stone. A local woman was detained on suspicion of drug possession.
