Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan's junior judo team confidently topped the medal standings at the Asian Junior Judo Championship, which concluded in Amman, Jordan. Over two competition days, Uzbek athletes won 20 medals, including 11 gold.
The decisive second day saw the team secure 5 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
Asian champions included Bekhruzbek Usmonov (up to 73 kg), Jurabek Eshpulatov (up to 90 kg), Alibek Durdiyev (over 90 kg), Zuhra Alimova (up to 57 kg), and Parizoda Yuldosheva (up to 63 kg).
Silver medals were won by Samandar Sunnatov (up to 81 kg) and Dinora Samandarova (up to 63 kg), while Poshshojon Jumaboyeva (up to 70 kg) took bronze.
Earlier, on the first day, Uzbek judokas also performed strongly, winning 12 medals including 6 gold. This allowed the team to establish itself among the leaders and ultimately win the tournament.
Today, the youth competition begins in Amman.
Previously, the Uzbekistan junior judo team confidently took first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Cup, winning 39 medals.
