Law enforcement officers in the Fergana region have detained five young individuals suspected of extorting 8 million soums from a resident of the Kuva district. According to the investigation, they allegedly beat the man, filmed him, and threatened to distribute the recordings among his relatives.
According to the regional police department, on June 14, the suspects allegedly took the man to a quarry located in the territory of the 'Beshbola' mahalla in Fergana. There, they beat him and recorded compromising footage on mobile phones.
The group then threatened to send the recordings to the victim's relatives and disgrace him if he did not hand over the previously agreed amount. Law enforcement officers detained the suspects while they were receiving 2 million soums.
Currently, materials are being prepared and a pre-investigation check is underway.
