On July 19, a ceremony was held to honor the winners of the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad. All students representing Uzbekistan at this prestigious intellectual competition achieved excellent results and became prize winners.

The Uzbek team brought home a total of 4 medals — 1 gold and 3 silver. The highest award and gold medal were won by Raykhona Tuymurodova. Silver medalists were Jasur Mustafoev, Azizmukhammad Khafizov, and Mirjalol Khomidjonov.

According to a presidential decree of Uzbekistan dated September 30, 2024, participants who win medals at prestigious international olympiads are entitled to substantial cash rewards. For a gold medal, the student receives 1 billion 30 million soums, and the teacher who prepared them receives 185 million 400 thousand soums. For a silver medal, the student receives 618 million soums, and the teacher 103 million soums.

For a bronze medal, students receive 412 million soums, and teachers 61 million 800 thousand soums. Additionally, teachers who prepared the winners of this olympiad will have their qualification category raised by one level.
