Tashkent is set to launch the 'Energy Safety Month', during which large-scale raids will be conducted across the capital to identify illegal connections to electricity and gas networks, theft of energy resources, and other violations.

The plan for the upcoming inspections was discussed at a meeting attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, resource-supplying organizations, and relevant departments. The main focus will be on areas with high levels of electricity and gas losses, as well as on suspicious facilities.

Additionally, consumers whose meters may have been tampered with or have not transmitted data to automated accounting systems for a long time will also be inspected. As noted by meeting participants, the measures are being implemented in accordance with a presidential decree aimed at combating illegal use of fuel and energy resources and improving energy efficiency.

It is expected that enhanced control will help identify illegal connections, curb large-scale theft of electricity and gas, and improve the reliability of energy supply for the capital's residents.

Recall that earlier in Tashkent, a criminal case was opened over the theft of nearly 20 billion soums of budget funds. According to investigators, officials from companies such as Hududgazta'minot, Texnopark, and others were involved in the criminal scheme.
