Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. Nearly 13,000 children from socially vulnerable families across Uzbekistan have received school uniforms, educational supplies, and festive gifts. The total value of the assistance provided exceeded 4.9 billion soums.
The charity drives were organized by staff of 2,161 mosques ahead of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence and the start of the new school year.
Under the initiative, school uniforms and educational supplies were given free of charge to 11,144 children from low-income families, families in need of social protection, and children who have lost their breadwinner.
An additional 1,500 orphans received festive gifts, school uniforms, and educational supplies from the charitable public foundation 'Vaqf'.
Specifically, support was provided to 302 children in Fergana region, 243 in Samarkand region, and 215 in Kashkadarya region.
Organizers noted that the charity actions are aimed at supporting children from socially vulnerable families and helping them prepare for the new school year.
