According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, Alisher Bakhadirovich Samadov has been appointed as the Chairman of the country's Accounts Chamber. This decision marks a significant shift in the nation's public financial oversight system.

Samadov had been serving as the head of the Department for Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis of the Presidential Administration since July 14, 2025. Previously, he held the position of deputy advisor to the president on legal expertise and comprehensive analysis. His extensive experience is expected to contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the Accounts Chamber.

In a related move, Timur Nuryigitovich Butunbayev has been appointed as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Water Reforms — Head of the Legal Expertise Department. Before this, he served as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Reforming the Water Supply System. This appointment aims to further advance reforms in water resource management.

It is worth recalling that the position of Chairman of the Accounts Chamber had been vacant since January 2025. The last person to hold this post was Adiz Boboyev, who was later appointed as the governor of the Samarkand region. This prolonged vacancy had implications for the continuity of financial oversight.

Additionally, in June of last year, the Control Inspectorate of the Presidential Administration was abolished, and its functions were transferred to the Accounts Chamber. This significantly expanded the chamber's mandate and responsibilities. With the new chairman in place, a new phase in the body's operations is anticipated.
