In April of this year, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered the creation of 12 new lakes in Tashkent to foster a cooler microclimate in the city. This initiative aims to improve living conditions amid the capital's hot climate.

According to reports, the new lakes will be established on the basis of various reservoirs and canals located within the city. The project envisages efficient use of water resources and expansion of green areas. This is expected to have a positive impact on the city's ecology.

Per the presidential order, the work on creating the lakes will be carried out in stages. At the first stage, a feasibility study is being developed and water sources are being identified. Subsequent stages will involve construction and landscaping works.

Responsible organizations have established special control over the project's implementation. Public feedback is also planned to be taken into account. New lakes are expected to appear in several districts of Tashkent.

This project could serve not only to improve the microclimate but also to increase recreational areas and boost tourism potential. However, issues of adequate water supply and environmental sustainability require special attention from experts.
