In Uzbekistan's Jizzakh region, blogger and head of the Sirojiddin Media project, Sirojiddin Adilov, has been sentenced to four years of imprisonment in a minimum-security settlement colony. The verdict was handed down by the Mirzachul District Court following extensive proceedings regarding allegations of fraud and extortion.

According to court findings, Adilov extorted 12 million soums from one individual and fraudulently obtained 30 million and 33 million soums from two others, bringing the total financial damage to 75 million soums. Officials from the Jizzakh Regional Court confirmed that the full amount of material damage was compensated during the course of the investigation and trial.

The defense maintained Adilov's complete innocence throughout the proceedings. During the hearings on September 24, the state prosecutor sought a six-year prison sentence, while the defense team and public advocates demanded a full acquittal. Ultimately, the judge decided on a four-year term.

The blogger was originally detained by law enforcement agencies in Samarkand in March of this year. His trial initially opened on July 20 at the Jizzakh City Court before jurisdiction was transferred to the Mirzachul District Court, which delivered the final ruling.
