Thousands of residents residing in the Mirabad and Mirzo-Ulugbek districts of Tashkent are set to face temporary natural gas disruptions. The restrictions are scheduled for October 28 and are necessitated by ongoing infrastructure upgrades, specifically the integration of a newly constructed underground gas pipeline along Taras Shevchenko Street into the municipal network.
According to statements released by the press service of Hududgaz Poytaxt, the temporary suspension of gas supplies will be enforced during daytime hours, specifically from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Local authorities have promised that the restoration of gas services will be executed in a phased manner once the technical connecting works are successfully completed.
In the Mirabad district, the interruption will affect several multi-story apartment buildings and private households within the 'Oybek' neighborhood. Approximately 1.7 thousand apartments across eight residential blocks, along with 16 private homes in the vicinity, will experience a complete halt in gas provisions during the designated hours.
Meanwhile, the Mirzo-Ulugbek district will see broader restrictions impacting multiple communities. Gas supplies will be temporarily suspended in nine multi-story buildings within the 'Okibat' neighborhood—housing roughly 1.9 thousand apartments—and in 11 residential blocks in the 'Nur' neighborhood, accounting for another 2.1 thousand apartments.
Additionally, authorities noted that pressure drops in the gas distribution network are anticipated across several other mahallas, including 'Afrosiyob', 'Lolazor', 'Farovon', and 'Ming Urik'. Furthermore, 18 wholesale consumers operating within the 'Okibat' and 'Nur' neighborhoods will also face temporary limitations as utility crews carry out the engineering works.
