Two specialized vocational education centers focused on hotel management are reportedly set to be established in the Uzbek cities of Namangan and Bukhara, in cooperation with Austria’s IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences. Project outlines suggest that at least 60 percent of the educational curriculum in these newly formed centers will consist of practical, hands-on training sessions aimed at boosting professional competencies.

According to the 'Dunyo' news agency, citing Austrian media outlets, the initiative follows a comprehensive educational partnership agreement signed between Uzbekistan’s Agency for Vocational Education and IMC Krems. The project's stated objectives include training qualified specialists and educators for the tourism sector, as well as elevating educational standards to international benchmarks.

The project blueprint incorporates the creation of training hotels within the facilities, enabling students to acquire direct operational skills in guest reception, housekeeping, and restaurant services. Furthermore, local instructors are slated to undergo training and certification via the 'Train-the-Trainer' model, a move purportedly designed to integrate Austrian pedagogical approaches into the local vocational framework.

Observers note that IMC Krems is not entirely new to the region, having previously engaged in educational projects in Uzbekistan, such as collaborative programs with the Tashkent State University of Economics involving over 200 students. While the prospective centers are intended to foster a competitive workforce for the tourism industry, current reports have notably omitted specific details regarding opening dates or admission criteria.
