Innovation startup parks are set to be established across various regions of Uzbekistan, providing entrepreneurs with dedicated spaces to develop projects, implement scientific research, and introduce new products to the market. These new platforms will reportedly operate under the Agency for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
Startups housed within these parks will allegedly gain access to essential infrastructure, legal and financial assistance, as well as marketing consultations. The primary focus is claimed to be placed on incubation and acceleration programs designed to transform prospective ideas into market-ready commercial projects. Furthermore, the parks are expected to assist with product certification, intellectual property protection, and domestic or international promotion.
Local authorities, including the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional hokimiyats, and the Tashkent city administration, will determine the specific locations for these facilities. Production spaces are planned to be leased out through electronic auctions, while funding will reportedly rely on rental revenues, grants, and other lawful sources.
Previously, state-run technical schools in the country were reportedly permitted to establish special spin-off-companies to launch and commercialize student projects. Under these initiatives, a single startup allegedly has the opportunity to receive a grant of up to 1 billion soms.
