Uzbekistan has approved a procedure to incentivize industrial enterprises that reduce negative environmental impact. The regulation was established by a government decree dated February 28, 2026.
According to the Huquqiy axborot Telegram channel, the document applies to enterprises in the first and second categories based on their environmental impact level. A phased incentive mechanism is provided for them.
In the first phase, enterprises must install a background air pollution monitoring station. Upon meeting this condition, they are eligible for the write-off of debts on compensation payments for negative environmental impact, as well as a 50% refund of compensation payments transferred to the republican budget over two years.
In the second phase, enterprises that have installed monitoring stations must equip their production with dust and gas cleaning installations and/or local wastewater treatment facilities within the next year. Upon fulfilling these conditions, 70% of payments for negative environmental impact directed to the republican budget are refunded over two years.
Notifications and attached documents are reviewed within no more than 15 working days from receipt. Based on the results, a conclusion on granting the incentive is issued.
