Uzbekistan and Indonesia have signed a joint statement to begin negotiations on a Cooperation Agreement in Trade and Investment, as well as a Free Trade Agreement. This was reported by the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.

According to the ministry's report, on March 2, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks via video conference with Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso. The discussions focused on developing trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The talks highlighted the stable positive trends in bilateral relations and an 82% increase in two-way trade volume in 2025.

"Agreements were reached to expand agricultural exports, accelerate quarantine and phytosanitary measures, and establish cooperation on mutual recognition of halal certificates. Particular attention was paid to the consistent implementation of defined measures through practical mechanisms," the ministry's report stated.
