Air Quality (AQI)

The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change has issued a warning regarding an impending shift in Tashkent's atmospheric conditions, which is projected to occur overnight into October 21. According to official reports, the air quality in the capital throughout October 20 hovered between 'moderate' and levels deemed 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' according to international AQI metrics. * *Note: The local authorities maintain that monitoring systems are fully operational, though independent verification of these forecasts remains limited.*

Current forecasting models suggest that concentrations of hazardous PM2.5 and PM10 particulate matter will surge during the evening and nighttime hours. Consequently, air quality overnight and into the early morning is expected to breach comfortable thresholds, registering as problematic for vulnerable demographics internationally and falling under the 'yellow' category on the domestic index.

Committee representatives supposedly attribute this worsening trend to specific weather phenomena, including a nighttime temperature drop to around +9 degrees Celsius, near-calm wind conditions, and a severe temperature inversion. It is claimed that these atmospheric traps severely restrict natural air circulation, forcing pollutants to accumulate heavily in the surface-level layers of the city.

Despite these grim projections, officials allege that the inversion is set to weaken by the morning of October 21. This supposed dissipation is anticipated to facilitate a gradual cleansing of the atmosphere, eventually allowing air quality indices to return to more acceptable, moderate levels.
