President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reportedly held a strategic meeting during his visit to the Kashkadarya region to address local socio-economic development challenges. The gathering began with official congratulatory remarks on the Uzbek Language Day, alongside tributes to the late poet and National Hero Abdulla Oripov, who originated from the region.
According to the statements made at the meeting, the Kashkadarya region—purportedly considered one of the most economically troubled areas just a few years ago—is now projected to be completely free of poverty and unemployment by the end of 2026. The leadership claims that precise calculations and economic roadmaps have been devised to achieve this ambitious objective.
During the visit, certain local entrepreneurs and public figures received recognition for their contributions. Nurbek Ergashev, head of the "Sultonteks" cluster, and Abdumannop Khudoyberdiyev, a local agricultural innovator, were reportedly selected for state honorary titles in acknowledgement of their efforts to expand regional employment and modernize production.
Additionally, cultural and educational initiatives were highlighted, resulting in the distribution of new housing units in Tashkent to prominent figures such as "Mutolaa" project editor-in-chief Javlon Jovliev and winners of a national reading family competition, as part of ongoing regional incentives.
