A US Air Force B-52H Stratofortress strategic bomber crashed in California on June 15 shortly after taking off from Edwards Air Force Base, killing all eight people on board, according to CNN News. Rescue teams arrived at the scene, but no survivors were found.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The aircraft was reportedly conducting a routine test flight as part of a program to upgrade its onboard radar system. The crew consisted of military personnel, civilian government employees, and contractors, including two employees of Boeing Corporation.

The B-52H Stratofortress is a multi-role strategic bomber capable of carrying nuclear weapons, with a service ceiling of 15,000 meters. It remains a key component of the US strategic bomber fleet.

This incident follows another fatal crash on June 14 in Missouri, where a plane carrying skydivers crashed, killing all 12 people on board.
