Hundreds of healthcare professionals gathered outside the World Medical Association (WMA) summit venue in Rotterdam, Netherlands, to demand the immediate suspension of the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) from the global body.

During the demonstration, 81 healthcare workers removed their scrubs and hung them in a line facing the assembly. Each garment bore the name of a Palestinian healthcare worker allegedly held in unlawful detention by the Israeli regime, highlighting the severe human rights concerns raised by the IMA Out! coalition.

Organizers accused the Israeli medical association of breaching foundational ethical principles outlined in the WMA’s Code of Medical Ethics. Activists claimed that rather than upholding medical neutrality, the IMA has supposedly remained silent or actively blocked international condemnation while medical facilities in Gaza faced systematic destruction.

The campaign delivered a petition signed by over 6,500 health workers worldwide, demanding accountability for alleged complicity in the mistreatment, torture, and medical neglect of detained Palestinian medical personnel, drawing international attention to the plight of imprisoned doctors.
