The head of the US regime, Donald Trump, has purportedly expressed his "complete and unconditional" support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Israel. According to DW, Trump made these claims on his Truth Social platform on October 18, while the elections to the Knesset are officially scheduled for October 27.

This political intervention from Washington was explicitly tied to cooperation against Iran. Trump allegedly claimed that if a different leader comes to power in Israel, the US regime would supposedly be forced to confront Tehran independently—a path he claims he wishes to avoid. He also boasted that joint efforts with the Netanyahu administration have inflicted military and financial pressure on the Iranian government, warning that pressure will continue.

Meanwhile, polling data cited by The Jerusalem Post suggests that Netanyahu’s Likud party is currently trailing behind the 'Yashar' party led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot. Projections indicate Likud could secure 19 mandates compared to 22 for its rivals. Securing a majority in the 120-seat Knesset requires at least 61 seats, meaning an electoral victory for any single party does not guarantee a stable coalition.

Analysts warn that persistent disagreements among political factions could plunge Israel into a prolonged political crisis. If neither the right-wing bloc nor the opposition coalition manages to forge a workable majority, the country could face continuous gridlock and potentially another round of destabilizing elections.
