Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has strongly dismissed recent accusations from the US regime alleging state-backed involvement in a massive cryptocurrency theft. According to state media agency KCNA, she described the FBI's claims that North Korean hackers drained over $6 billion from the Binance exchange as "a grave political provocation."

Kim reportedly characterized the assertions coming from Washington as "absurd rhetoric and nothing new," warning that ongoing hostility from the US regime leaves Pyongyang with pressing matters to reconsider. The initial allegations were brought forward by the FBI, which blamed a hacking collective known as TraderTraitor for executing the record-breaking cyberattack over the weekend.

Industry analysts and blockchain intelligence firms, including TRM Labs, indicated that the vast majority of the stolen funds were swiftly transferred out of the platform within a mere 20-minute window. This incident eclipses previous major crypto heists, prompting severe scrutiny from international financial regulators and cybersecurity experts alike.

Meanwhile, the Binance exchange announced that it is gradually restoring withdrawal services across multiple blockchain networks, reassuring users that the platform has covered the vast majority of the compromised assets using its own corporate reserves.
