The first Ukrainian factory producing strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has commenced operations in the United Kingdom. Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, announced this on February 25.
According to him, the production complex belongs to the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems, whose UAVs have proven effective in modern warfare conditions. The company's engineering center will continue operating in Ukraine, while production lines have been relocated to the UK.
Zaluzhnyi emphasized that launching the facility abroad does not mean transferring key capacities from Ukraine. It involves creating a "second resilience circuit" to ensure production continuity amid constant missile strikes and infrastructure threats.
The ambassador noted that the joint project forms a shared industrial security base for allies: for Ukraine, it provides stability and long-term planning capabilities, while for the UK, it offers new jobs and strengthens the defense sector through access to combat-tested technologies.
Kyiv and London announced the joint production agreement in summer 2025. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported the deal after meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, stating that cooperation will ensure stable funding for projects, including interceptor drones and strike UAV production.
